The New and Improved Front Deck

Despite the crazy heat and humidity we’ve had lately, I’ve been spending the evenings sitting outside and enjoying our new front deck.  Here’s a pictorial timeline of the progress…

This is what the deck looked like before the construction started last summer.

The demolition process.  The pile of debris on the lower left side is all that remained after the deck was ripped off the house. 

Framing goes up after the siding and stone work on the foundation is complete.

Now for the cedar.  And this is pretty much how things stayed throughout the winter and spring.

This summer it was finally completed!

And here are some close-ups of the detail-work on the railings, incorporating my design.
