Here are some photos of the most recent updates around the house. The new front deck is beginning to take shape. What you see here is cedar boards surrounding the pressure treat frame. I just love the grain on the board that makes up the side of the steps.
The back of the garage is just about complete thanks to all the shake-staining we did last week. The last items left here is to install a flood light at the peak and replace the pane of glass in the middle. You can't see it in this photo but the existing one has a huge hole in the bottom of it. 
Along the short side of the garage - more shakes.
The back deck is getting demolished to make way for the new deck. 
The masons have been working rather quickly to put up stone on the far side of the house. This is going to take quite a bit of time - they have 3 stories to cover!
Over this past weekend we installed one of our new lights on the front of the garage. Copper...of course!
And it looks awesome in the dark!

I LOVE the lantern (and how it throws the light at night). I am soooo jealous of how far along you are in your renovations as mine are just beginning (but you give me hope!)
